As a Connections Team member, you will be paired individually with guests at the Compassion Clinic, helping them navigate the clinic areas and sharing the love of Jesus as you spend time together. While every interaction will be different, your role is to be their guide while they are at the clinic – and also to listen, pray, encourage, share the gospel, or connect them with a local church/resources.
The Facilities Team is vital, as it is responsible for setting up essential clinic spaces to function in the capacity needed. This may involve equipment set up, tables and chair set up, hanging barriers, etc. At the end of the clinic, this team takes down the clinic areas that were created and restores the school to its original state.
Professional barbers and hair stylists will work with guests to cut their hair in the manner requested by the guest. Children and adult haircuts available. It is requested that stylists bring their own supplies and equipment for cutting hair. Standard chairs are provided.
The Hospitality Team creates a safe, welcoming, and loving environment by organizing and providing beverages, snacks, and lunch throughout the clinic event. The Team also connects with Guests and seeks to provide for any needs that arise in order to make Guests and Volunteers feel valued.
In partnership with the Connections Team, these team members welcome clinic guests by creating a warm, friendly, and safe environment and shepherd guests to and from all of the services they seek. They will assist with flow, completing forms, and providing interpretation, sometimes during guest health services. This team requires a great deal of compassion and practice of privacy for guest information.
This team serves the children of guests by hosting a fun and safe space for them to play and enjoy being at the clinic. Background checks will be required for anyone over 18. Volunteers under 14 years of age are required to serve with a parent.
The Parking and Security Team ensures efficient access to the clinic and maintains a safe environment for all Guests and Volunteers. This team is responsible for walkie communications throughout the clinic and security and emergency response.
The Prayer Team is the heartbeat of the Clinic. It provides consistent prayer support both during the planning stages of the clinic and during the clinic itself. In all instances, it asks that glory and honor be given to Jesus and compassion to people.
The Promotions Team is responsible for publicizing the Compassion Clinic to the community. This can include working with area churches and local businesses to advertise, putting up signs and banners, canvassing with fliers created by Compassion Clinics, posting to social media platforms, seeking out news/media coverage and more. Many of these promotional items have already been created and can be obtained by reaching out to your Clinic Leaders.
Members of the Registration Team are the first to welcome Guests as they arrive. They also help them register for appointments and make sure their necessary forms are completed. This team is great for those needing a sitting role during the clinic.
The Social Service Team organizes and helps Guests navigate areas designated for community organizations that provide information, goods, and services to the Guests. As a member of this team, you may be asked to set up areas, aid guests in collecting donated essential items, or help people find resources available for their particular needs.
The Flow/Orientation Lead interfaces with all the other Team Leads to create the most efficient space-utilization for team needs and Guest flow through the clinic. They create the map of the clinic and orientation videos to help Teams get an idea of how the clinic will work.
This sign up is for those who are both undecided on where to serve and willing to assist in any capacity that the clinic has need. The Clinic Lead will contact them to place them on a team as the clinic date gets closer.
The Leadership Team is in charge of the oversight of a specific area of the clinic. Please only sign up for this role if a member of the Executive Leadership Team has asked you to do so (or if you are a part of the ELT).
Many months of planning, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of hours serving and praying is something that deserves celebration. The Appreciation Team Lead forms a team that writes thank you notes to professionals that were part of the clinic. They may also choose to host an appreciation night 3-4 weeks after the clinic. This event creates a space to fellowship as one Body, opens doors for volunteers to serve on the steering committee, and encourages people to continue working in the community to share the Gospel.
